Sufjan Stevens – Carrie & Lowell

the tracklist is actually a misprint, as eugene is falsely placed at track 8 when it really is track 5 after drawn to the blood. I was listening to the cd when I noticed this! I wonder if that means all anniversary CD copies are in the wrong order then.

Does it sound better than the atrocious Limited Edition Clear vinyl release ? I am not complaining about the pressing quality but really the mastering who is meh and lifeless

Absolutely blown away, especially given what past AKR pressings have been like. I'll say that I've never had an unlistenable one, but the quality has never been that high either. Until now, and it couldn't be more appropriate that it's an anniversary pressing of Sufjan's best record to date. The album means a great deal to me personally, so to have what feels like the definitive edition of it, and for it to sound this damn good has made me the happiest bunny. Incredible.

giant scratch across disc 2 right from start through song 1 and into most of song 2 on side c. major bummer.

It would've been a perfect pressing if the inner sleeves had better quality. Side C had a couple scratches because of it. Fortunately, that's the only issue. Really frustrated by that.

I had no idea (!!!) this was a box. Beautiful, beautiful packaging.

The box is thick and glossy, and the quality of all the photos (including the cover) is exceptionally done.

As for the pressing, it is up to modern day standards - hit or miss (classic GZ Media). But when you get a proper copy, I think you will be very satisfied.

GZ Media has come a long way, and are capable (and seemingly trying) of making good product [see also: Frank Ocean’s Blonde reissue].

There’s so much to love here, and the best part? Beautiful music to match.

My violet copy has 4 ripping sounds that I believe to be non-fill in the first couple of songs. I really hope I can get a decent replacement. People seem to be having better luck with the blue vinyl.

Only heard side C/D so far but really impressed with the quality of the packaging as well as the pressing itself. Whisper quiet which is what is needed for a record like this. Hoping A/B has similar results. Great job AKR

This is the best I’ve heard this album sound! Beautiful pressing - dead silent vinyl, striking color, and stunning packaging. This is probably how the album should have been released originally
