Surprised at all the bad reviews for this pressing. I must have gotten lucky with my copy which I got at one of his tour stops for this album.
Minimal noise during a few of the quiet times. Otherwise I still find the music beautiful and heartbreaking while revisiting it on it's 10th anniversary. They just announced a new copy for it but I'm happy with this one and feel like I don't need it.

I’m trying to understand why everyone is complaining about how terrible this pressing is. I it being released and AKR stated that it was a horrible pressing but would allow people to buy them anyway, if they wanted to instead of just tossing them out.

Best album from him, but as almost always: the pressings from this certain label are mostly horrible including this one here

Anyone in the States looking for a copy and want to pay less than a hundred with free shippin, I got a great VG+ disc with NM jacket, hardly played, with proper inners, can provide pics. Also check out some of my 'haves'. Not everything is for sale of course, but it never hurts to ask. Pics of my collection also on IG @garmonbozia430

Just adding this for balance. There are good copies of this (and therefore I hope of the black version too which is cheaper) - the clear copy I got upon release has a pretty much silent background, just the odd very faint crackle like you'd expect from any disc. It's a quiet, acoustic album so I appreciate that any noise would be pretty invasive. The only issue I have is one singular very brief burst of non-fill on A1. I've never heard a digital copy but this is a rich and warm sounding pressing to my ears. Maybe the good ones aren't so common but it's still worth trying to find one, whichever colour it is!

do not buy this, buy the black one. this record is unlistanable, full of non fills and I had a piece of paper in the vinyl.

No issue of surface noise & warp for me but sounds bad dull & lifeless. Sounds very much like a plain digital transfer.

Bought the black vinyl retail - terrible.pressing. Side one not too bad, but side 2 horrible. Write to asthmatic kitty and they sent a replacement, claiming that they would inspect and listen to it before sending it out. It arrived covered in dust and visibly scuffed. Even after cleaning it was worse than the first one.

So I wrote to them again asking whether the said inspection had occured in the floor of a talcum powder factory, or words to that effect.

So they sent me a 3rd copy - this time the clear vinyl. Also terrible.

                  WTF.

5 stars for the music. 1.5 for the pressing.

This 10,000 copy run brings up the question: at what point does something stop being limited?

LOVE the music. Too bad it was pressed onto a potato.
