A bit of noise, but this is one of those releases where the other positives massively overshadow a bit of pop and crackle (which, in my opinion, adds to the organic nature of the music and vinyl itself—but that’s another debate entirely).
Beautiful packaging, rich, full sound. The synths soar so high, and the drums sound like they’re in the room with you. The addition of Venus.17 feels really generous; this could have easily been a 2LP album, and I don’t think anyone would’ve batted an eye.
Pros:
• Amazing sound
• Great selection of tracks
• Nice booklet and packaging—very smart
Cons:
• A bit of surface noise (on my copy)
• Inner sleeves aren’t anti-static (just swap them out)
9/10 – Lovely set!
Pick it up while you can!

Edited 6 months agoI have to say that records sound quite noisy even after the wet cleaning. "Andrei" for instance, almost drowns is clicks and pops. Still, the mastering is awesome and, the album itself is bonkers. Happy to finally own this on vinyl.

Edited 6 months agoMy copy is quite noisy on every side. Have anyone else experienced The same? I wonder if ordering a replacement would be a reasonable resolution to this issue, as the discs don’t seem damaged, and there are no scratches visible at all. That’s a rare case, as usually a wet clean makes my records sound better.

Records sound fantastic really breathed new life into the tunes and don’t think I heard a single pop of click over am 3 records 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Bleep however I’m done with. They used to be incredible now they simply don’t care. All
Crushed corners what happened to the old way of sending records out -
Got this at my local shop with no damage, bummer about Bleep’s less than stellar shipping.
Anyway, the album and pressing are fantastic – super clear, punchy, and dynamic. A really fun listen that sounds timeless yet ahead of its time. -
Edited 7 months agoWell, that was wonderful. My first time listening to my favorite Squarepusher album, Ultravisitor, on vinyl.
I like the remaster. It is something that I have sort of always wanted from this record. The music is more clear with less of a the loud raw live vibe, which ittedly IS a major part of this record. The live elements are still present - like the crowd interactions featured just before my favorite Squarepusher track of all time Tetra-Sync. Side D of this record is phenomenal.
When I was younger, I was a bigger fan of the intensity of Steinbolt, but these days, I suppose I felt it more difficult to take in side C, though District Line II is a stand out on this album. Circlewave is crisp and clean. Great track.
The opener and title track, Ultravisitor - five star Squarepusher right here folks. Iambic 9 Poetry is a beaut.
This is a must have Squarepusher release, I’m going to pick up a copy of the CD as well.
I haven’t even listened to Venus No 17 Maximised yet - spinning next. -
rare case of a practically unscathed transcontinental arrival here, wanted to ask those who received their copy:
when going to put everything back into what i thought was the jacket(so an "O" card is basically just a jacket with no sides to it? lol, ) - its just a mess with the warp purple Promo style sleeve coming separate/empty from its record, and the "book" (which is worth it for the breakdown of his live setup if your into that sorta thing) + 2LP, and the jacket within the jacket all mangled, good luck specially if you re-sleeve w/ Mo-Fi there just simply wasnt enough room since designs inception at which point they seemingly decided to really push its storage capabilities... yall notice that? can yall even read that? lol
