The Meters records all sound great regardless of format because they are recorded to sound very phat and alive. You cant screw them up surely?
Look forward to comparing to the excellent MOV pressing. My guess is this will sound 10% better but be somewhat noisier of press.
Will report when done! -

My copy of this release is perfectly flat and centered. Exceptionally NICE example. It's got fantastic fidelity and sound just superb when cranked to a level to scare the neighbors. Oops. It just skipped. WTF.
Ok after wet cleaning it's playing really nice. No skipping. No pops. Plays really NICE.
Jackpot is a great name for this label. I guess it means if you get a good one, you hit the Jackpot? Just kidding...
Paper inner sleeves super cheap choice got immediately swapped for something decent. Record edges a little rough. Memphis, get a sharper knife on that pressing machine please.
Not complaining at all about this purchase since my OG copy is barely VG+ and was a real bitch to find...

This sounds absolutely bangin'. My copy has a tiny bit of noise, but could probably be fixed with an ultrasonic bath. Mastering on this is great.

My copy sounds fantastic and I guess I got lucky since my press quality is surprisingly exceptional (I've had bad luck with Memphis in the past). My copy is perfectly flat, centered spindle hole and labels, smooth edge, and dead quiet across both sides. As others have mentioned, the mastering on this is great. The music is forward and present. Punchy as hell with great separation. Happy camper!

No surprise if Memphis did press this. It's the usual off-center junk they do. Not sure why you cut from analog, have KG handle that, then hand it over to Memphis to half-ass the pressing, do lousy color variants instead of standard vinyl, slap it in a paper sleeve, and consider it a job well done, but here we are. Thanks, Jackpot, MRP, and Rhino.

Edited one year agoI bought all three, all of them sound fantastic. Great soundstage and separation. I only had one issue with the debut Meters red colored vinyl album. Jackpot is sending me a replacement, very cool of them.

Cleanly pressed with a nice dynamic sound. KG continues as the best of the best and the one to beat for cutting beautiful sounding records.
