Could be a bad copy but there are skips here and there throughout. It could also be my stylus. It sounds great otherwise
-
Not sure if I just got a bad one - but I get a lot crackling - pops on high notes that sound like the speakers blown - only record of mine that sounds like it. I’ve cleaned it - cleaned my stylus - everything - and still has the issue.
-
A very crisp and clear pressing. Plus the actual vinyl is done right. Center label centered, flat, heavy, with nice separation of instruments and vocals. Good soundstage. However, I do have my OG that I bought in the early 70’s which also sounds excellent. If this one had never been released I’d be happy with my original. There never was a ton of low end punch to this record, but it was always easy to EQ that up a bit. Overall a decent but not essential pressing.

Edited 4 months agoThis pressing is absolutely first rate. Rich and clean. If you told me it was an unplayed OG I would believe you. It’s that good. Volume provides significant benefit.

Edited one year agoSounds super clear, crisp and dynamic.
I do not have an original/vintage copy to compare this reissue with. I am by no means an analog purist but the extra clean sound sometimes give off the “digital stamp” if that matters to anyone.
The only thing lacking (or perhaps was never there in the original recording) is a punchy low end. However, relative to HiFi streaming services, bass is more present.
Really happy to add this to my collection.
Edit: I wanted to add that when the record is played at a relatively loud volume, it sounds MUCH better. While digitally sourced, at a higher volume the instruments step out of the speakers and the mid range shines much better. Wow mind blown! -

Edited one year agoSound quality is top notch. One complaint is my record has a slight warp to it. It doesn't appear to effect playback but the warp is noticeable when the record is playing.
-
Brilliant remaster. An album that has been poorly mastered and sssibilant in the past but BG nails it. Gets me very excited for the AP UHQR and Sacd!
-
This is an excellent pressing with rich and full sound. My record had two skips on Side A during the first play through, but that resolved itself quickly. The vinyl is heavy and very quiet. Worth getting!
-
Edited one year agoBeautiful repress, everything is high quality. Perfectly balanced sound, crystal clear with that natural warmth you would want.
OK! If only just a little more bass.... But that could be more a matter of taste.
