Some decent tracks spoilt by them being 'mixed' into each other. We were buying those kind of CDs back in the late 90s/early 2000s. These days people want full length versions not tracks mixed into each other.

If the world was to end tomorrow and you could save only one record, as a testament of life, I would save this album.

Just came across this.
Especially liking the collaborations with Conti and Malheiros.
Amazed these guys can still make music like this at their age.
Overall a great album. Just what you would expect from the legendary Mr. Trent. -
Although Altered States, The Choice, Morning Factory and many other of his tracks are undeniable house classics, calling Ron Trent a house music artist wouldn't do him justice. He has been producing a lot more music over the past two decades that wasn't exactly house music. His Dance Floor Boogie Delites showed Trent in full on 80s disco boogie modus. On his latest album with new project Warm however, he incorporates all of these influences in one impeccably produced album, collaborating with guest musicians like Azymuth, Kruangbin and Jean Luc Ponty. Although the production is undeniably very slick and spacious, there is a lot to be heard and listened to here. So much musicality, so many subtle sounds and details. For me this is top notch contemporary jazz fusion.. If this is "elevator music", please let me know where to find the building that uses it, I could be going up and down for days. Strong suspicion this will be amongst my top 10 albums of this year. Incredible album. Apparently Warm is going to be a touring live band as well. Will most def be checking them out if they are playing somewhere around my parts! -
Edited 2 years agoI'm glad others here rate it so highly and get so much pleasure from it, but it's instantly dispensable 'elevator /on hold/noodling' music to my ears, nothing more. And lets face it, compared to the sublime and never sounds dated Altered States (and all the remixes).....come on...it's not just different RT styles, but different universes...but each to their own. And what's with the all-too-frequent corny cheesy synth sounds too, its like the Spinal Tap of deep house..I wish it were more fulfilling, I really do.

Ron Trent showing the kids what actual music is...with what appears to be and sounds like a swipe at "vapourwave" in face value.
