My copy has the disc one label placed on both vinyl discs. It sounded fine, with no other defects were noted. It is an original pressing that came in the original shrink wrap.

I got a 2021 repress. My copy sounds really nice. Good bass and fairly clear sounding. Really happy with it

Edited 8 years agoI was slightly worried getting this on wax, after reading reviews, but my copy is solid. Mastered a little hot, but very little surface noise and only the slightest of slight edge warp. Definitely a bit high on the sibilance and clipping, but overall it sounds pretty warm and inviting with thick bass and responsive range.
Also contains the unedited You Lovin' Me and Out My Mind, which was worth the price of ission alone! Love this album! -

Unfortunately the same is true for New Amerykah Part 1. I work in music retail and have ordered many copies of it, and have never seen a non-defective copy. All were either warped or had major surface noise. A shame because it's a great record.

Our Motown pressing does not sound very good. Sibilance and clipping feature through out. Disappointed with quality of mastering or recording. Also, record came from sealed sleeve badly warped.
