Edited one year agoReally good album, great band. Nothing to say about that. But my copy is off-centered ...
EDIT: 2nd copy on my hand: always off-centered and unflaten. Again: poor quality control.
Both copies buy in , Fnac stores. -

Flat red (almost pink) vinyl, some pops in between songs - nothing that gets in the way of the experience; while well centered on A side, B side a bit eccentric... No skips or distortion. Very lively and dynamic music.

Yeah, it's a bad pressing. Mine isn't warped, but it has some bad pops and skips fresh out of the plastic. There's a bad one at the beginning of Colors.

Bad pressing. The actual album is way better as far as pressing quality. Music is still fantastic so giving it a 4 just because they’re awesome.

Had to wait a long time to get this one, but it was well worth the wait! Beautifully pressed on very quiet, flat red vinyl. It arrived a few days before I saw the band in London (Roundhouse, 6 Nov 21), and it faithfully recreates what a fantastic live band they are. I seriously doubt many modern bands could pull off a direct-to-disc recording of this quality, with many moments that are truly spine-tingling… I may listen to it even more than the studio album!

Edited one year agoOutstanding Album. I'll it that I usually listen to jazz but came across Black Pumas almost by accident on YouTube. Loved their music right away. Kept wanting to buy a copy of their album but never got around to it. Then I see this Direct to Disc record. I love D2D records and probably have a dozen or so from the 70s. Best of both worlds
The recording is amazing. I love live music and other than with jazz it's hard to find good live recordings. This album is one of those times. The music is flawless and the production is top notch. One of my new favorite albums
One negative was that the first copy of the record I purchased skipped on the third song and was slightly warped. Got a new copy from the record store and this one was perfect. -
I have ordered this LP (Red Edition) twice now: First came the "Spotify Edition" - the sticker on the cover was simply pasted over - apparently overproduction for Spotify, which was put into the regular "red cycle". The second delivery was then what I had ordered. BUT: I had to return both deliveries. The records came out unacceptably wavy and warped.
Big nuisance. Especially for a band that made their first album in x versions to much money, at least some care in the production and final inspection would have been desirable. I am very disappointed and will not buy a replacement again. -
Edited 3 years agoThis album is fantastic. This band plays flawlessly live, and yet you can feel their energy and the slight differences from the studio album in the best possible way. I think I prefer this to the studio album. The sound quality on the pressing is mixed perfectly and is dead quiet. Full, smooth, and powerful. Mine is slightly warped, but playable. Must have been some issue in shipping on some of them as I see other comments of the same issue. The red vinyl looks clean and flawless.

Sound is good, but pressing is WARPED and this is the SECOND one I've received warped. First one was really bad, Acoustic Sounds accepted my return and issued a new one, but this one is warped as well, but at least it plays.
I would not recommend buying this.
