Always assumed the iconic “ow” came from Cameo’s Larry Blackmon, but just looked it up and it’s from Oran “Juice” Jones’s Shaniqua.

This is one of the few albums in existence where every song is a 10/10 Masterpiece. I'm not sure what the producer was doing within the months of creating this album but it's something that's never been replicated again!

Edited 2 years agoThis is an average album with a few good tracks but nothing to equal the perfection of Ride on Time. Strike It Up is the best of the rest of the House tracks featured. I like the cover version of Earth, Wind & Fire - Fantasy, which is a mix between House and R&B. It has a great bassline, very typical of 89/90. The title track Dreamland is a lovely little ambient/Balearic mood piece that deserves more than the two minutes runtime given. I had it on repeat about five times. The other non 4/4 track on there is Ghost Box, which is a nice downtempo saxstrumental groove.

Great album. I love the uptempo tracks but am I the only one that also really likes the balearic moods of Dreamland and Ghost Box?
