poor pressing, lots of cracking. LP cleaned several times. But unfortunately it doesn't help anything. Shame, expected more from Sony.

this is a very nice pressing although I really had to pump up the volume and it has surface noise mainly between the tracks. the problem with this pressing is that it's really dirty, there are lots of white particles from the paper sleeve and one of them was causing a loud pop right on the huge 'the way' note in hero so that's crazy. I managed to get it off the vinyl and the pop is gone so I guess you really need to wash it thoroughly.

Sounds great, mine had a bit of surface noise on side 1, but not all the way through! Amazing Babyfsce production! Mariah’s best album! The big hits from the 90’s!

Just like "Butterfly" - The mastering & dynamics are phenomenal yet there's surface noise here and there.

New editions of this album has no hype sticker and no code ! Almost all Mariah Carey vinyl that are being pressed now since the mc30

First copy was dreadful. Tried cleaning and I have an anti-static gun but was obviously an issue with the pressing. That was actually what led me to check the reviews. Pops and clicks all through side one at least. Shocking quality from a major label. Took it back and swapped for another copy and the 2nd copy was fine and sounds great with just the occasional pop. Must have been a bad batch. Agree it's a low volume though. Have to turn it up several decibels compared to other records.

Flawless pressing (I’d read some bad reviews but my copy is perfect) and the remaster sounds great too.

Soon became one of my reference record, sure there are some imperfections here and there, but the dynamics and impressive sound performance from outer to inner grooves are quite amazing. A lot of pop records would benefit from a treatment like this, or improve upon it. Otherwise love u Mariah 😋 iconic album, 90’s vibes all the way through, also love the addition of bonus track “everything fades away” (at least here in canada compared to the original CD release)which compliment “anytime you need a friend” a standout from the original cut, and one of my favourites.

Edited 4 years agoFairly decent, though not a stellar remaster. Noisy at points; as others have pointed out. Sony’s quality control is abysmal at the best of times. The noise issue isn’t helped by the fact that the lacquer was cut at a low volume, which exacerbates the background noise.

Definitely the best sounding out of my Mariah 90s reissues - sound is punchy, clear, well separated and Mariah’s vocals SHINE on the pressing. However, the record does suffer from quite a bit of static - lots of cracks and pops - however this is only noticeable between songs so it’s not the biggest deal. So happy they pressed it with “Everything Fades Away” as well!
