Edited one year agoi really love this LP by one of THE BEST groups from the 1960s The amazing New Colony Six.. I am a TRUE fan not a fake make believe fan,
Sure its not the same garage/ psychedelic pop as their first LP was. But bands/ artists DO evolve and change with the times.
Stand out tracks for me are "I Want You To Know", "I Could Never Lie To You" & "Barbara I Love You". These songs really define the 60s pop sound. Gorgeous male vocals that send chills up your spine with lush melodies and flawless productions. Most people here gave more than 3 to 5 stars for this LP just one or two not so bright haters gave one star. "Avoid at all costs"? Over 890 smart people own this wonderful LP! -
Being from Chicago I have a serious soft spot for almost all late 60's records from this time. Attacking A Straw Man sadly is one of the few I just can not stand. Obviously total control by label to try to be a record selling band, this album falls flat in every way. Avoid at all costs.
