This is a dense, deep, heavy album. It's ambitious, it's spawling, it's majestic. Maybe it's my ears, the age of time, or my current setup (which is nothing fancy at all), but this particular pressing seems to sound better than the one I owned and lamentably sold many years ago. I enjoyed the remixed version that was released a while back, but I tend to go back to the original mix, and this Winchester pressing has a bit more high end and a less muffled sound than I . Glad to have this masterpiece again.

This pressing is elite. Mine is dead silent. Sounds like George is strumming his slide guitar in the room. Incredible album.

My US 1970 1st press still sounds perfect. I bought it in Montreal in 1996 for just CAD5. Best bargain in my life.

The run out on mine for sides 3 and 4 are different, but I can't find a match on discogs:
STCH-3-639-Z23 #2
STCH-4-639-Z9
Then my side 6 runout is different:
STCH-6-639-Z-9 #6
I also don't see where it talks about "It's Johnny's Birthday" being based upon "Congratulations" printed anywhere. Other than that, everything else matched this release's profile. -
I'd like to make a movie and just use this album as the soundtrack. I'd pay a fortune in licensing, but every time I listen to it, I just feel like it's ready made.
No one tell Wes Anderson this idea. It was mine first.
