The new copy I bought in July 2022 has a feelable scratch on A1 that's quite audible. It's not a bad pressing at all, just crap quality control. How does a record even get scratched between the press and getting inserted into the inner sleeve?
Aside from that, the music is a great take on '70s jazz fusion filtered through 35 years of hip-hop. -

To add one more data point to other reviews - my version of this looks dirty with mold release residue, but plays very well. Minimal surface noise, far less than would be expected when looking at record. Only to point out that some rigs are designed to be quieter than others: I am running an upgraded Rega P7 with Audio-Technica AT-OC9/III. Normally this is a very quiet setup, so if you hear noisy records it can be the record, the rig, or a combination. It’s not always accurate to just blame the record.
It is mastered rather low on the volume setting, so that may also increase the noise level because higher volume settings are needed for the same output dB.
A cleaning would be in order in any event! -
I've just got a new reissue, the etchings are slightly different from the 2017 reissue. I think someone needs to add this new print. Maybe I'll try to figure it out and do it myself, if I'll have some time.

How can the first press and the repress be distinguished besides the card? I bought it second hand and I can't tell if there was a card in it.
Furthermore, is it even worth to add a second release for that? Based on descriptions, the pressings seems identical. -
This albums sick but this pressing is terrible. I got scuffs and hairlines all over.. it plays okay - light crackling throughout from what I can hear. It's such a shame hearing great albums get treatment like this.

Great album! I pray Messrs. Yussef and Kamaal do more. The pressing is decent - the disk is a little wobbly and a little dirty, so there is some surface noise that will probably go away after the disk gets washed.

Fantastic press, gets absolutely silent when it's supposed to, reels you in with the rising and falling of the tempo, nice separation of each artist's weapon of choice - get it while it's cheap
-
My repress has annoying surface noise apparent during intros and quieter ages, otherwise the cut is clear, loud & proud.
