The "..Under Licence.." bit in the rim text means this is later than 1978, more likely 1981 or so.

anyone have a release with the b side as working class hero?

Could somebody help me out here please? I have what appears to be a 1971 pressing, Bell Sound, Matrix on side 2, "It's So Hard" is, S-45X-47582 Z4 "Bell Sound Sf " is stamped with the "Bell Sound" trumpet image etched in. Side 1, "Imagine" matrix is very lightly etched, S-45X-47582 F25 with etched in "trumpet" image, no "Bell Sound" or "Sf". Housed in a black Apple sleeve that does not say 'Printed In USA". Cat #1840. I can't find this exact release on Discogs. Am I overlooking something here? Any help appreciated!

In my opinion this pressing is not a scandinavian dito. It is Swedish. Denmark had it's Apple 1840 pressing, Norway had 7E 006-04940. Sweden made this 4E pressing. Finland had no own pressing of this single and they might have imported it from Sweden, I don't know. But this pressing is a Swedish one. Any opinions?

I'd say this release is a rerelease from 1981, after Lennon's death. This came on a 12" maxi as well. // JAKUB, Stockholm

What makes this USA original 1971 release is that it confirms the bitter and twisted animosity that Lennon and clearly in total conjunction and cahoots with Ono felt about McCartney and Apple Corp.

The stick a finger up labels only happened USA wise because of Klein's management clout over Capitol in all other territories it was released the standard green whole and white sliced McCartney designated labels were used (it is important to note that this did not have a 1971 UK release because L & O wanted their take on the label design, EMI laid down the law and legal agreements made especially after the 'wide' album debacle.

The apple depicted is not a printing colour change, it's not McCartney's chosen and ed trade mark apple!!! It's a different variety with a more less round, pronounced and harder shape. and done and used to stick two fingers up.

This is the only reason to own and have this |USA 1 1/2" LH die-cut in your Apple Beatles Lennon and McCartney collections

(although not stated on the labels both tracks are in stereo).

This clever 12" maxi single was released along with "Give Peace A Chance/ Love" in 1976. This is a direct re-release of the 1971 single released everywhere but in the UK, (The UK finally got Imagine as a single in 1975 and was the UK EMI-Apple tie-in/teaser for the John Lennon Shaved Fish compilation but, unlike the 1971 overseas singles' B side coupling with "It's So Hard", UK wise, it's release was replaced with "Working Class Hero").

The posthumous 1981 Electrola-EMI 12" maxi single release of Imagine followed the 1975 UK EMI-Apple coupling and also replaced "It's So Hard" with "Working Class Hero" giving the German public further reasons to buy this 1981 release.

on my copy, the apple on the label, side B, is different, see pictures. this is the only difference, don't think it justifies an unique release.
