Edited 16 hours agoMine came with dents and scratches. Got one of the discs replaced, but ultimately, this is a turd. One thing you need to do when you get a MoFi record is not just clean the records, but replace the inner sleeves too, as you'll find the dust in them will scratch the record over time. Piss poor quality.

Awful. KoB pressings are kind of risky because it's such a dynamic record that's not the easiest to pull off in this format. However, MoFi's quality control is non-existent. After receiving a faulty copy with a dent in one of the discs, MoFi sent me a replacement disc some two months later, which I foolishly didn't listen to closely immediately. That disc was also damaged. As is the other disc in the set. I don't mind the digital step at all, but MoFi just have bad QC, so their records can sound really bad. I'm not trusting them again. I binned this set as I couldn't bear to listen to it again, or even look at it.

Still THE pressing to get, IMHO. This soundstage is superb, just as it should be, compared to the 33RPM UHQR version. Instruments are more balanced and in place. The high hats sparkle and Miles sounds fantastic. The UHQR version has a slightly wider soundstage, but the instruments seem somewhat smaller and therefore don't convince me.
Bad pressing (UHQR), not at all, matter of personal taste, Yes!

Edited 13 days agoMy (new) record pops and clicks both sides, mostly at the beginning of the first tracks. When the instruments are fully playing, it becomes less distracting. I have wet cleaned the record three times. The record is also not flat, the cartridge moves up and down a bit. I have send the record back to the shop.

The good: It sounds gorgeous as others have mentioned.
The bad: Judging by the price point, there is way too much surface noise, tape hiss, pops, clicks, and distortions scattered both discs. It is a very well mastered album with a slew of technical problems. So for $170 (with S&H included) it is not worth it. I received a replacement copy a way back, but the problems persist sadly.
PS: The Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby 45 RPM UHQR is gorgeous by the way. -
I have the 2015 2LP 45RPM MOFI box set, I compared this pressing to that and this does a fantastic job replicating at least. Fantastic sound for a $20 press, if you want and even bigger upgrade that’s where it becomes more expensive. -
Edited 28 days agoI got this for $50 ,, this is a truly wonderful sound. This was not mastered from the OG master tapes, it was remastered from a copy of the OG master tapes. The UHQR DOES use the OG master tapes.
