Sounds fantastic to my ears. And yes, this is a 30 dollar record in Japan. By no means should it have to have some sort of deluxe treatment, but this is about as good as it gets. Thick tip on sleeve, quiet, flat records, and an impeccable sound to boot. As far as I’m concerned anything else is overkill. Incredible album, RIP Nujabes.

While I’m not rating Modal Soul itself, which remains an all-time classic, this particular release is a letdown. For $60, the 2-disc set feels underwhelming: thin inner sleeves, no outer cover, and zero extras. There’s no booklet, no added content—nothing to distinguish this release from previous editions. It’s hard to understand what makes this a “Limited Edition,” aside from the price tag.
Rest in beats, Nujabes. -

My copy sounds great. My fiancèe made this selection and I was pleasantly surprised. The gatefold is indeed very sturdy and pleasant to hold. Purchase on sight. If it is in your hand, don't put it down. My LPs came with those anti static inner sleeves that are round on the bottom. My pressing has yet another runout variant that I do not have time to document in detail but I recall side c being "C 23" and side d being "D 25" but I only went with the reading glasses, not the magnifier. Lol. -

Wow. Just wow. It's insane how excellent this is and I wish this was released sooner -

Excellent sound quality. Every note was clear, from start to finish. I've listened to this album digitally countless times and was still in awe the moment it flowed through the speakers — somehow it created a space that's so tranquil and beautiful that I got lost in it. Seemed to have more depth than the ones I listen to online. I must have been lucky and got a good copy though based on the reviews. -

Bought this used and perhaps it's my pressing but Side A sounded a little flat for me. Got better as I progressed through the sides, but disappointing as Side A has my favorites. Still, a must for the collection.
Side A also had an abnormal amount of surface noise and eventual dirt on my stylus on the first playing even after a wet cleaning. Other sides were fine. Second playing was better. -

Great sound quality in my record. Dynamic bass, but not at the expense of the mids or highs in my opinion.
