one of the best kinks album of the mid 60s . but its not as good as face to face.

The G T in the deadwax/runouts indicate the LP lacquers cut at RCA in Toronto and were mastered using a good tape source. Also the deep grooves indicate the LP was manufactured at RCA Canada Record Pressing Plant in Smith Falls, Ontario.

No question that this is the best album of The Kinks’ early Rock and Roll period. 12 superb tracks.

so who designed the striking front cover of the sleeve?

Very quiet vinyl pressing with well balanced mono sonics and wide mono soundstage. This 5th US Kinks album has identical tracks but different picture as the the 2nd UK Kinks album Kink Kontroversy.

I don't have any other vinyl pressings to compare this one too, but it sounds considerably better than my 1998 Castle/Essential CD. It's also the first GREAT Kinks album. No issues with this release, it's got a suitably punchy, clear, crisp mono sound, more full and robust, and just sounds more lively. My copy was purchased new and plays nice and clean, with zero surface noise.

Oh yeah! lots of punchy bass and extended treble sounds amazing and super clean and quiet great 60s rock and roll unfortunately till the end of the day is a little muddy unlike the rest of the lp side 2 isnt quite as punchy

The Beatles estate could learn a lot from the Kinks. The Kinks make straight-forward, high quality analog records; cheap and available reissues for the masses. Mono for anyone that wants mono, we aren’t saddled with anything we don’t need here.
