Low-price budget series introduced in July 1972 for compilations and minority-appeal material. Twelve titles were released in the original series, the last issued in November 1973 after the mid-priced CLASS sequence was introduced in July 1973.
After Phonogram took over manufacturing and distribution duties during mid-1975, the CS series was briefly resurrected in August 1976. Three new titles were issued reusing previously used catalogue numbers (CS 3 to CS 5), along with new editions of CS 1 and CS 2 (originally released in 1972).
